What True Fellowship Really Means: Living Beyond Surface Faith

John uses the word koinonia—a deep, soul-level fellowship. This is more than shaking hands at church or sitting through a Bible study together. Fellowship means shared life, real connection, and openness.

But here’s the tension: we often live with spiritual masks. We smile, say “I’m fine,” and act like everything is good, even when it’s not. That’s not fellowship—it’s performance.

Walking in the light means letting go of the performance. It means allowing others to see your real struggles, and in return, making space for their honesty too. True community forms when we stop pretending to have it all together.

Reflection: Who in your life could you open up to this week—without the mask?
