The God You Can Touch: Why Faith Rests on the Incarnation

Scripture: “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life...” —1 John 1:1

What if faith wasn’t about feelings or even your strongest beliefs, but about something solid—something you could actually touch?

When John began his first letter, he wrote as an eyewitness. His hands had touched the risen Christ. His eyes had seen the impossible made real. In a time of confusion and false teachers, John reminded believers of one unshakable truth:

God became flesh. The eternal Word entered time. The invisible became visible. The untouchable became touchable.

And He has never stepped back out.

👉 Reflection: The foundation of Christian faith is not your grip on God, but God’s choice to draw near.

Reading this came at the right time. I’ve been struggling with doubt, but this post reminded me that my faith rests on Christ, not on my feelings.

This really blessed me today. I love how you explained that faith is not just a feeling but rooted in the reality of Christ becoming flesh. So powerful!

Thank you so much for sharing that! I’m grateful it spoke to you. Faith really is anchored in the unshakable reality of Christ taking on flesh, not in the ups and downs of our daily walk. That truth gives us steadiness no matter what happens on a given day. So glad this reminder met you today!
